Providence Church envisions a church based ministry which strives to help bring healing to hurting people. We recognize and respect that we are a part of a larger network of Christian ministries and of mental health care designed to facilitate healing of emotions.

We believe Jesus Christ is the the pre-eminent model for Christian counseling, practice, ethics and caregiving activities.

Christian counseling is a Spirit-led process of change and growth, geared to help others mature in Christ by the skillful assistance of a variety of interventions including prayer, spiritual, and professional counseling.

Christian counselors maintain the highest standard of competence with integrity. We know and respect the boundaries of competence in ourselves and others. We frequently consult with or refer to more competent colleagues when the limits of counseling competence are reached. We acknowledge that the individual's best interest is the most important priority when seeking help.
