Baptism Sunday | October 12

“We are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”  –2 Corinthians 3:18

Prov’s new Disciple Path defines a disciple as a “life being radically transformed by Jesus.” What does this mean to you? How is it true, or not so true, of your faith journey?

The Disciple Path has three segments: “Know you belong. Grow in your faith. Go make disciples.” Where are you on the path? Who or what has been significant in helping you grow and transform? How might God be calling you to help others?

17 people were baptized (Bryan, Charlie, Samantha, Noah, Kyrie, Brayden, Nilsa, Noah, Bryan, Mayra, Kenzie, Brittney, Kelsey, Allie, Hugo, Austin, and Ava). How did you see God in their grace stories? What commonalities did you notice?

The journey of transformation starts with being vulnerable. How did those being baptized demonstrate this in their grace stories? What dark and broken places were shared?

Have you surrendered your brokenness to Jesus? If not, what’s holding you back?

In your own life, is Jesus a concept (an intellectual idea, formula, moral example) or a reality (dynamic, relational, life-changing presence)? What is the evidence of this?

Phil started the sermon with a moment of silence. Why is silence an essential element of spiritual transformation? How are you practicing silence and solitude to “Be still and know that I am God."?
