Read Colossians 4:2-6. Then… read Col. 1:3-7 to revisit Paul's opening greeting to the Colossians. Compare these verses to Col 4:2-6..

  • What similarities do you see in words, phrases, and concepts?
  • Why do you think Paul does this?
  • How does the beginning of the letter tie to the end of the letter?

As Paul ends this letter with final instructions, how does Col. 4:2-6 build from chapters one to three and give the believers their marching orders?

Why is having a posture of prayer that’s watchful and grateful so essential to our lives as believers?

Ben said, “Our main purpose is to advance the kingdom of God.” How do the following verses support this? [Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:14-15; 2 Corinthians 5:20; Matthew 5:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 2:4; Matthew 28:18-20]

God opens doors and allows us to be part of the process. How have you experienced this in your life, either as a gospel sharer or a gospel receiver?

To be advancers of the Kingdom, God needs our time. Is there space in your schedule to walk through the doors God opens? Or is your time more about you and your to-dos, your responsibilities, your kingdom?

Ben said, “Act like someone who loves Jesus…Stop hiding who you are…Learn to open your mouth and the overflow of your heart speak.” How does this convict, challenge, scare, or encourage you?

As we’re wrapping up Paul’s letter, what are his marching orders for you?

Close with this prayer: God, I want you to open doors of conversation with people who need you today. Help me to leave space and pay attention; Open divine moments for me today.
