Scripture Reading: Colossians 3 & Ephesians 5
  1. During the panel, marriage was defined as a “permanent and exclusive covenant between a man and a woman, in which each commits to give their whole self — emotionally, spiritually, and physically — in mutual, sacrificial love and grace, helping one another grow into their future glory-selves.”
What is the purpose of a Biblical marriage
  1. Possible answers/discussion topics:
    1. We were made to be in community and bear fruit- Genesis 2:18 (It is not good for the man to be alone..)
    2. As Christians (little Christs,) marriage models His covenant, love, and sacrifice for the church
    3. Bring us closer to Christ, we are His bride.
  2. How has your view of marriage evolved over the course of your life?
    1. From how you were raised
    2. cultural perspective
    3. Biblical perspective
  3. What makes a Biblical view of marriage different from other views of marriage (secular, other religions, etc.)
  4. Last week, in reference to Ephesians 5:21, Phil defined submission as: “willingly using your power and influence to support and uplift others, helping them to grow into the fullness of who God created them to be.”

What does that look like in our daily lives? Does this only apply to marriage
  1. After listening to Sunday’s marriage panel, was there anything specific that stood out to you? Were you challenged in any way?
