COLOSSIANS 3:1-4
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

In this passage, Paul unpacks the practical application of what it looks like to have an upward look. What we believe has a real impact on how we live and behave.

An Eternal Position
-Christians have died to our old life; we are raised with Christ, and Christ is seated at God's right hand.
What helps me remember that I am raised with Christ - that he is seated, and his work is finished?
- "Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in; aim at earth and you will get neither." C.S. Lewis
How's my aim? What needs to shift in my life to correct it?
What makes heaven so attractive to me?

An Eternal Perspective
- We can set our minds: on family, fun, goals, work, etc. The question isn't whether we will set our minds, but where we will set them.
What am I choosing to set my mind on?
- Imagine a sailor navigating the open sea, following the compass pointing true north to his destination with a compass. That's how we are to be.
Where is my compass leading me? Am I anchored in God's Word - His promises, character, and truth - and if not, what needs to change?

An Eternal Presence
- "When Christ, who is your life, appears..."
Examining my heart, is Christ my life? What is? What am I living for? What can't I live without?
- Josh said, "Before we can ever reach the world, we have to leave it."
What needs to shift in my life this week to live out the truth of this statement?
