Read James 5:7-12
In the midst of being tested the source of our patience is revealed.

1. When tested by time, it is revealed that the source of patience in difficult moments is often connected to our worldly outcome and timeline and not connected to JESUS who is the timekeeper. Explore your thoughts on this.
2. Our culture struggles with waiting and expects an immediate response. Silence isn’t allowed anymore.Discuss your observations on this tendency.
3. Aaron gave this two-part definition of patience:
Patience is the capacity or ability to accept or tolerate delay, waiting, trouble, or suffering without getting angry, annoyed, upset.
Patience is the supernatural ability to wait on divine breakthroughs in the midst of hardship.
Which of these do you find more challenging?
4. Aaron stated: “Patience is only a theory, and can't become real or active, until it's tested.” He then shared a personal story of his patience being put to the test resulting in his asking forgiveness from his wife and children. If you are comfortable, share an example from your own experience. On reflection was your ability to demonstrate patience refined?
5. Based on the following scriptures explore your thoughts on patience and suffering.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Gal 6:9 NIV
“You too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.”
James 5:8 NLT
“Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail, and the fields yield no food …. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.” Habakkuk 3:17-18 ESV
“The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” Job 1:21NIV
