Life's Healing Choices

September 21, 2023 7:00pm

Find freedom from your hurts, hang-ups, and habits!

It's no secret that we've all been hurt by other people, we've hurt ourselves, and we've hurt others. And as a result, every single one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, hang-up, or habit. It's how you respond to these difficulties that will determine whether you get bitter or better.

To help you find freedom from those hurts, hang-ups, and habits, join us on Thursday evenings for a 9-week study through some of Life’s Healing Choices. Using the Beatitudes of Jesus as a foundation we will learn practical, encouraging, biblical teaching that promise to begin your transformation journey.

Nathanael Manthey and Sue Kelley will be co-leading this study starting on Thursday, September 21st at 7 pm in the Darlington Room.

Testimonies:

"Last year I participated in the Life’s Healing Choices class.  I was very intrigued that it is about finding freedom from my hurts, hang-ups and habits.  The one lesson that stood out to me the most was the transformation choice.  It talked about how healing is a process and takes time since it has taken a lifetime to get to where you are today.  I find this very freeing since I tend to struggle with perfectionism and viewing things as black and white.  This lesson has helped me to continually turn to Jesus since His ways are perfect and I can find rest in Him and trust Him with whatever I am going through and with the various things I would like healing from.  I would encourage everyone to take this class and see what Jesus has in store for them.  He is gentle and kind as He reveals hurts, hang-ups and habits in our lives."

We all deal with hurts, habits and hang ups and we all handle them differently. Life's Healing Choices introduces 8 biblically based principles taken directly from Jesus's Sermon on the Mount. With God's help, we can change our lives as we learn to trust in his promises, finding hope for a better future. It's a brief introduction to Celebrate Recovery which is held every Sunday night here at Prov, and helps us make healing choices that help us become more Christlike in Character. For me personally, I realized just how Valuable community is, feeling natural sharing with the ladies in a safe space. With community in place, I discovered hurts hidden deep down inside me, demanding to be left in the dark, and began to find that once in the light they lose their power. Now one of my favorite verses, James 5:16: says "confess your sins to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed" The saying is true, "you can't heal what you don't reveal."
