Epiphany Prayer – consider starting group with this prayer shared by Phil
Gracious God,
you led the Magi by the light of a star
to behold the glory of your Son,
guiding them to offer their gifts in worship.
Lead us, too, by your light,
so, we may seek you with sincere hearts,
offer you the treasures of our lives,
and proclaim your love to all the world.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen
1. Read Colossians 2:6-7a
This verse tells us we are being formed by someone. The question is who is forming you?
Dallas Willard says it this way
The spiritual renovation and the “spirituality” that come from Jesus are nothing less
than an invasion of natural human reality by a supernatural life “from above.”

2. Read I Peter 2:9 & 24
Father, I am set apart by your resurrection power and magnanimous, extravagant, sacrificial agape
love. Let your life flow through me to ____________________.
How can we specifically be intentional to lift up those situations which the Spirit brings to mind?

3. Read Colossians 2:1-4
Paul talks about being “knit together in love.”
In Greek symbibazõ (soom-bib-aď-zo) means to teach or instruct, learn together; to unite or knit
together in affection (love)
Agapeo in Greek means: love of Jesus; beyond human love, unconditional love
Discuss how these verses show symbibazõ: Eph 4:16, Col 2:19

4. What have you experienced about being knit together (learning, growing, contending with) in a
Life Group and not in Church?
