Follow Along with the Message

1. What are the two ways the Holy Spirit ministers to us when we begin to engage with Jesus Christ?  Warning and Teaching

2. As we grow deeper in Christ, what does our heart long for? We desire more and more to walk in His love, joy, peace, patience etc.

3. Until now how have you attempted to walk in Christ? What has been helpful, and what has been a stumbling block? Answers will vary.

4. Why is engaging in a disciplined method of walking in Christ important? What will such a discipline help to relieve in your life? Possible answers: Feeling of being scattered, hurried, reactive, exhausted.

5. Phil suggested that we should take time to listen to the Lord's desire for us prayerfully. Ask the Holy Spirit to lay upon your heart and mind the areas of your life that need to be strengthened to allow you to root yourself in Christ.

5. Write down those things that nurture your spirit and bring you delight.

6. Write down the activities that you need to avoid, that pull you away from being anchored in Christ.

7. Move forward with the next steps in developing a rule of life to guide you over the next 3-6 months. Reject perfectionism. Give yourself grace.

  • Write out your commitments based on the next 3-6 months.
  • Translate your commitments into a calendar.
