Anchor verses: Colossians 2:6-7
Supporting verses: Colossians 4:5; Psalm 25:4; Colossians 1:26-27; John 14:16-17; Ephesians 3:17-
19; 1 Thessalonians 5:18; Colossians 2:9-10

1. What’s your favorite way to spend time outside?
2. Read Colossians 2:6-7.
a. This section starts with “therefore” (ESV) or “so then” (NIV). How are verses 6-7
transitioning from verses 1-5? (i.e. What is “therefore” there for?)
b. What action words (verbs) do you see in verses 6-7? What is Paul saying to the believers
in Colossi? What is he saying to you?

3. Todd said we’re to live counter-culture and consecrated lives. To do this, God invites us to walk
IN Christ daily. When you first accepted Jesus as your savior you were a baby in faith, just
learning to walk.
a. What kind of walker are you now? (e.g. still toddling, sauntering, walking with purpose,
hiking, running, using crutches, etc.)
b. What keeps you walking?
c. Do you know someone (maybe yourself for a time) who stopped walking? Why was that?
4. God walked with Adam and Eve in the Garden. Jesus came and walked among us. Yet, like a
tumbleweed, we’ll be blown where the winds of the world take us if we don’t keep walking and
aren’t growing deep roots—grounded in love.
a. Are you more like a tumbleweed or an oak tree?
b. What practices have helped your roots grow? (e.g. Scripture, Life Groups, prayer, spiritual
friendships, Sabbath rest, serving and ministry)
c. What practices is God nudging you to do?
5. In verse 7 Paul says that abounding/overflowing thankfulness is a byproduct of walking in Christ.
Do you naturally or intentionally have an ongoing attitude of thankfulness? What are you (or
should you be) abounding in thanksgiving for right now?
6. Be silent for one minute. Close your eyes and picture yourself walking with Jesus. Share what you
envisioned.
7. How can your Life Group specifically encourage one another to walk in Christ daily?
