1.      Passio - (suffering or enduring). What are you willing to suffer for? your family? your job? money? accomplishments? materialistic things? Are you willing to suffer for Jesus? Are you relying on any of the above things because of comfort which is holding you back towards a life of sacrificing for the Kingdom of God? Read and think about Mark 10:45. “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

2.  What’s God’s passion? “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
-Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭
God’s love for you runs so deeply and immeasurably that He sent His perfect Son to take the punishment of your sins and because He wants you to spend an eternity with Him. Whenever you feel uncertain of how deeply you are loved, remember that He loved you even before you ever turned to Him.

3. Our King’s silence. How at this moment could Jesus remain silent? Why? Jesus was standing in the power of silence and fulfilling prophecy. Read Isaiah 53:7. Jesus did not open his mouth. Why not? His silence was rooted in the plan to save you! How many times are we so busy and forget to be silent that we may miss the Lord’s plan for us, whether big or small?

4. Our King’s Substitution. Read Isaiah 53: 5-6. Have you acknowledged to God that prior to accepting Jesus, spiritually you stood where Barabbas stood; convicted and imprisoned by sin? Through Jesus’s substitution, you can become Bar-Abbas, son/daughter of the Father. Take a moment to thank God for this great substitution and contemplate the posture of your heart in gratitude.

5. Our King’s Satisfaction. Read Isaiah 53: 10-11. On the cross, Jesus sees all those who have placed their faith in him. He saw you. He willingly and joyously endured meaningful suffering for you. This is extravagant love. Mark 16: 19-20 “After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.”
Before this, Jesus said: “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

After reading these scriptures, what is God’s calling for you to do? Do you ever feel as if you don’t have the skill or determination to fulfill God’s calling? As you grow in your relationship with Him, He will govern you both the opportunities and the strength through His Holy Spirit to share this Good News!
