Expanding The Table
Series: Expanding the Table
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Romans 6:4
Everything that He is impacts all that we are and all that we are becoming.
What does a resurrected, new community of people, filled with His spirit, look like?
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Acts 2:42-47

God, Expand my Heart for Expanding the Table
“Father God- We honor You as our Father and provider.
We thank you for the ways You have provided both individually and corporately for us.
Above all we want this family to honor You with our resources in a way that reveals your heart to each other, our greater community and to the areas of the world to which you have called us.
We want our hearts and minds to be open to the ways You want to continue to provide and we want to follow You where You are leading us.
All we have of time, skills, energy and finances is from You and ultimately for You. Help us to let go of things that make it difficult for us to discern Your leading, forgive as we’ve been forgiven and grant us courage in the face of fear.
Fill us with Your life in such a way that our hearts and minds are bursting with ideas, compassion, sacrificial generosity and passion for Your people.
We are Yours.
In the mighty and beautiful name of Jesus, Amen”
